PC Tab Alarm System - How it Works

The heart of the PC Tab System is the unique security sensor equipped with a security sticker that you just peel and stick to the equipment you are securing.  The PC Tab system is connected to a Central Alarm Panel (which can be done via existing spare network jacks).  Any attempt to remove this tab from the equipment will set off the alarm, alerting you to a possible theft, contacting a Security Department, Monitoring Service, or whomever you designate.

The PC Tab sensor combines the unique security sticker with a visible LED tamper indicator. Using patented technology, PC Tab security stickers use a special membrane which forms a link back to the Central Alarm panel. When this link is interrupted, such as when the sticker is removed, the alarm is set off, notifying a Security Department ( or monitoring service). The visible LED tamper indicator makes finding the disconnected tab easy.

PC Tab mounted on computer

The PC Tab sticker protecting the CPU is attached across the cover and chassis, preventing anyone from taking the cover off. This method of attachment secures the CPU as well as preventing RAM chip theft.  The sticker is a universal fitting that will protect ANY computer, no matter how it opens!

The PC Tab Security Sensors have 2 port openings into which the connector wires are plugged. After attaching the security sensors to the equipment being secured, you just plug the connecting wires from port to port through the entire cluster.  Various length connecting wires are available to ensure there is adequate slack to prevent undue tension on the security sensor.

PC Tab Security Sensor in a cluster

Connecting the PC Tab wires back to the alarm panel (which is typically mounted in a nearby network closet) can be done by running a wire or converting an existing, unused network wire into a dedicated alarm wire. To use an existing network wire, you simply plug our RJ-45 adapter into the jack.  Then snap one end of your first connecting wire into this adapter, the other end snapping into one of the ports on the first security sensor.  Plug the next connecting wire into the other port of the first security sensor over to one of the ports on the second security sensor, and so on down the line. At the very last Security Sensor in the cluster, make sure to plug in an end-of-line terminator into the unused port to provide supervision of the system's alarm wiring.

It's that simple!   Complete alarm protection with the ease and simplicity you're looking for.  ALL FOR LESS THAN $50 PER COMPUTER! (in most configurations)
