Lock Style

We offer 2 different lock styles to best suit your needs.

The Guardian 820 style has a scissor clip built right into the lock. The built-in scissor clip costs $6 more than a free-standing scissor clip, but it is perfect for situations where you need to unlock the equipment often and want the convenience of a one piece lock.

The Guardian 810 style is the economy version and does not have a scissor clip built in. This is better for equipment that does not need to be unlocked often, so you can save money when you don't need the convenience of the built-in scissor clip and can use a free standing clip. The 810 can also be used as a bullet end, or can provide a loop if the situation warrants (see 'How to attach the security cable to your equipment' for more information)

Cable Thickness

We offer 3 different cable thicknesses to fit all of your needs.

The 5/32" thick, or standard version cable (S) is perfect for most situations. This cable is thick enough for your desktop applications, but light enough for your mobile applications. This cable comes in black. It is 5/32" diameter steel, vinyl coated to 1/4".

The 3/16" thick, or high security version (H) is for higher risk situations. When you have a computer in an unattended, open area, you want a cable that can withstand the challenge. This cable comes with a clear vinyl coating. It is 3/16" diameter steel, vinyl coated to 1/4".

the three different cable thicknesses the Guardian locks are available in The 1/8" thick, or economy version (E) is for lower risk areas, or where budget is the primary concern. This cable comes in a smoky (dark gray) color. It is 1/8" diameter steel, vinyl coated to 3/16".

All these cable are made of heavy duty aircraft cable, with vinyl coating of various colors on the outside. All cables are 6 feet in length. Custom lengths are available, but may require a minimum quantity and extended lead time. Call to inquire.

Number of Scissor Clips

This Universal scissor clip is designed to fit into the standard security slot located in most computers, laptops, desktops, flat screen monitors, AV equipment, AV projectors, etc.

Number of Glue-On Fasteners

This composite fastener permanently adheres using a commercial strength adhesive. Can be used on plastic, wood, or metal.

This fastener can be used on any equipment you need secured that DOES NOT have a built in security slot. You can also use this as an anchor point to attach the cable to a desk or other immovable object.

HOW MANY KEYS WOULD YOU LIKE?

HOW MANY KEYS DO I GET WITH THE DIFFERENT KEY OPTIONS?

KEYED-ALIKE: When you purchase keyed alike locks, chances are you don't want a ton of keys floating around. Usually, you only need a couple of keys for authorized personnel.

You can now specify how many keys you need. The default is 2 keys. This means if you order 1 kit or order 100 kits, you only get 2 keys. But you may have 6 authorized people you want to hold on to a key. In that case, change the default number from 2 to 6 (or however many you need) and that is the number of keys you will receive. In the future, if you find you need additional keys, we will send them to you at no additional charge. (up to 2x the number of kits ordered)

MASTER-KEYED: When you purchase master-keyed locks, each kit will come with its own set of 2 keys. Your 1st order of 10 or more MK cables comes with 1 free master key. If ordering less than 10 cables, or if you need additional master keys, please call (800) 466-7636 to order.

KEYED-DIFFERENT: Each keyed-different kit comes with 2 keys per kit.
